Marcus Kotze
School Principal
MEET OUR PRINCIPAL
Mr. Kotze was born and raised in South Africa before moving to Korea in 2001. He has been an educator since 1999 and has worked in education in South Africa, Korea, and Indonesia. He has earned degrees in many areas of education to support teachers, students, and their families, including a Master of Education in English Second Language Acquisition.
Mr. Kotze has been fortunate to serve in many roles in the schools he’s worked in: school teacher, university lecturer, and principal. GIS is his third tenure as principal, having previously served in the role in Korea and Indonesia. With over 20 years in education and 10 years leading schools, he brings extensive experience to his role.
Mr. Kotze believes in the holistic education of students, focusing not only on academic achievement but more importantly on soft skills development, leading to graduates who are balanced individuals ready to make a difference in their community. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and playing various sports.
