GIS takes great pride in holding full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). As the exclusive WASC-accredited PK-12 school in Jeolla-Do, Korea, we stand as a beacon of educational excellence in our region. This accreditation underscores our unwavering commitment not just to meeting but to surpassing international educational benchmarks, ensuring our students receive nothing less than the finest education available.
Affiliations
GIS highly values its extensive network of affiliations and partnerships with esteemed organizations. We are honored to have received official recognition from the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education as the pioneering foreign educational institution in Gwangju, Korea. Our participation extends to the Southern Korea Activities Conference (SKAC), where we were among the founding schools in spring 2005. We are proud active members of the Korea Council of Overseas Schools (KORCOS). Additionally, we take pride in our association with the National Honor Society (NHS) and our role as an official College Board SAT Exam test center. For over two decades, we have been dedicated to serving the globally-minded community of Gwangju, fostering academic excellence and personal growth.
